With our winter weather dragging on and on, the staff and participants at Community Opportunities Club–West spent several hours planning our first Cabin Fever Fest.
Because it was our first one, we decided to only invite the folks from the Waukesha Adult Center. The participants and Recreational Assistant Laurie Richter did quite a bit of planning in January and February to determine which the games, crafts, prizes and goodies we would feature. To make the programming area more festival a few club members created two banners, and other club members helped set up the area. The festivities started around noon and Jennifer G., one of our club members, helped the participants from Waukesha Adult Center make one of the two crafts projects that were available. Other members helped the participants play the bean bag toss, knock the cans over, ping pong ball toss, the water duck grab and the ring toss games. Karen Pohl and Cindy Williams volunteered at the event, and Ethel Clough made brownies for all the helpers as a thank you. We also had a special visitor—Jane Kirchhoff. Everyone had a fun time!
