For many, the AbilityOne program is the first step toward economic and social independence. A case manager will work closely to help you adjust to your new work life. You'll receive one-on-one instruction as well as counseling, support and encouragement to help you get the skills you need to be successful. The program also offers advancement opportunities.

Job Requirements:

  • Stand or be stationary for an extended period.
  • Lift 40 pounds and push and/or pull carts weighing 500 pounds.
  • Use hands and feet in repetitive motions.
  • Work in a hot and humid environment.
  • Meet quality and productivity standards. 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must have a documented "significant disability." This must include a clearly stated diagnosis in a letter or report format that is signed by a licensed psychologist, psychiatrist or medical doctor.
  • Disabilities accepted as significant include developmental and cognitive disabilities, mental health and personality disorders, vision impairments, and Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing.
