Skip DexterGoodwill Industries Appoints Skip Dexter to Chief Retail Officer

Today, Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin, Inc. announced it promoted Skip Dexter to chief retail officer. In his new role, Dexter will be responsible for driving the long-term strategic vision for Goodwill’s robust retail operation including a growing eCommerce business and a network of retail store and donation centers across southeastern Wisconsin and metropolitan Chicago with nearly 80 locations and 3,100 employees.

Goodwill is a non-profit social enterprise providing employment, training and support for people experiencing barriers to work. The organization also has an impact on environmental sustainability, diverting almost 140 million pounds of clothing and household items from landfills in 2020. Revenue generated from Goodwill store and donation centers helps to fund workforce services the organization provides for job seekers.

Dexter joined Goodwill in 2010 most recently serving as senior vice president of retail, with more than 20 years of hospitality experience in progressive roles across industry leading brands like Walt Disney Company, Toys “R” Us, Grand Canyon and Yellowstone National Parks. He holds a dual master’s degree in business administration and human resource management from the Keller Graduate School of Management and has earned credentials in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University. During his time with Goodwill, Dexter also completed the Goodwill Industries International Executive Development Program focused on developing the skills necessary for success as a Goodwill senior leader. Dexter was born and raised in West Allis, Wisconsin and currently resides in Waukesha, Wisconsin with his wife and four children.
