The Goodwill Center for Work and Training – Southwest Campus (GSC) hosted the annual Day Services Holiday Bazaar for the third year in a row. Each center was able to set up two tables for their crafts and treats, and the space at GSC provided an area for all the shoppers to be treated to free hot apple cider and snacks.
The Holiday Bazaar has become an annual favorite with participants, family, friends and Goodwill staff. During the morning, the room was packed with many shoppers. There was a great selection of baked goods, crafts, Christmas decorations and many other products. It was the perfect one-stop-shop to begin holiday gift shopping.
Waukesha Adult Center, Community Opportunities Club(COC) North, Community Opportunities Club(COC) South and the James O. Wright Center Legacy and Clubhouse programs sold almost everything on their tables. Congratulations to them on their success!
The GSC Legacy and Clubhouse programs were able to bring their members to look around, and COC South was able to transport a few vans full of participants to the event. Each one of these centers had at least one table of items to sell and their participants were able to attend as well.
The proceeds that each center makes can be used for something they want or need. Some centers use the money for entertainment. Some use the money for a Christmas party and some use it to purchase something that they could use throughout the year.
We want to congratulate the participants and staff from each center for all of their hard work over the past several months, which allowed them to create such nice products for the event. One of the best sellers at the bazaar was the baked goods! So maybe next year the centers will bring even more (hint, hint)!
Thank you everyone for making this such a fun and successful event each year!
