When It’s Clutch Time—Goodwill Manufacturing Comes Through

Goodwill Manufacturing has three locations in the Milwaukee area that provides contract packaging services to Goodwill Manufacturing has great customer relationshipsa wide variety of consumer and industrial goods markets. One of our most current high volume projects involved placing three components into a chipboard carton as part of its final packaging. Once the project was underway, our customer realized that one of their end consumer’s products required a final inspection phase to assure performance and reliability. To compound that issue, our customer was faced with a timeline that could not be adjusted. Goodwill Manufacturing was able to answer the call for help on this project. Our team met with the customer to fully understand the added inspection process. Since timing was of the essence, detailed work instructions were developed the same day, approved by our customer and training commenced for our team. We began the inspection process within 24 hours of the initial discussion. However, that is not quite the end of the story.

The timeline, which was already very tight was further shortened due to the high market demand for the product. Goodwill Manufacturing was again able to respond through the efforts of Goodwill TalentBridge our full service talent acquisition firm.

What started as a one shift operation quickly turned into a 24-7 program to accelerate the processing of the project. Goodwill TalentBridge was able to fill the demand for additional help, and due to the detailed work instructions our Goodwill Manufacturing team was able to quickly train the new employees on the process.  We met our customer’s timeline thus allowing them, in turn, to meet their customer’s in-house dates. It’s gratifying to see how the close relationship with our customer allowed Goodwill Manufacturing to utterly exceed their expectations.  We want to help our customers succeed!

More importantly, it allowed us to continue to improve the lives of the people we serve through the Power of Work.  To learn more about Goodwill Manufacturing, contact Mike Matus at Mike.Matus@goodwillsew.com.
