Employer Spotlight: WIS International

Posted by Goodwill Staff on October 21, 2020

WIS

WIS International considers itself a people company and prides itself on having a diverse workforce with an accessible and welcoming workplace.

“We like to give people opportunity – it’s that simple,” says Andrew Fahrenbach, Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition with WIS International.

In recognition of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, we celebrate employers like WIS International, who are passionate about ensuring that people of all abilities are able to find opportunities for gainful employment. More importantly, equal opportunity employers strive to hire disabled individuals into teams that celebrate the incredible value their experiences, personalities, and unique skillsets have to offer.

WIS International provides inventory expertise, merchandising and space optimization for businesses. The company works with Goodwill to find a steady stream of candidates who might be a good fit for their job opportunities. Often, people with disabilities get hired on as inventory analysts. This position involves going to a client’s workplace, counting inventory and entering the numbers of merchandise into an electronic device.

“Depending on an individual’s disability, we are able to make accommodations that allow them to do their work,” Fahrenbach says. “That might mean providing additional training or providing the individual with special equipment or materials.”

Fahrenbach values the dedication and new perspectives individuals with disabilities bring to the job.

“I’ve found individuals with disabilities are some of the most dedicated and grateful employees,” he says. “Everyone has value and can bring something to the table.”
