Thanksgiving means family, friends, feasting and football.  It also inspires a spirit of generosity that makes the world a better place. Goodwill is fortunate to have a long list of amazing supporters to be grateful for everyday.  Our Power Partner companies provide ongoing and sizeable work opportunities for people with disabilities or disadvantage and value social accountability.Among those leading the way to transform lives through the Goodwill mission are our Power Partners. Power Partners was created by Goodwill Manufacturing in 2005 to recognize organizations that share our belief in the “power of work.” These companies provide ongoing and sizeable work opportunities for people with disabilities or disadvantages and value social accountability and investment back in the community.

The work our Power Partner companies provide improves the lives of countless individuals with disabilities or disadvantages by providing the opportunity for work and a paycheck, as well as providing a sense of purpose, self-worth and a social outlet.  The following companies have been awarded the Power Partner designation:

2013—Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare and Milwaukee Public Schools
      2012—Olympus Group and VA Hospital
      2011—MillerCoors
      2010—Northwestern Mutual
2009—ChemRite CoPac., Inc. and Children’s Hospital and Health System
2008—Gehl Foods, Inc. and Ocean Spray
2007—SC Johnson and the US Navy
      2006—Froedtert Health, Inc. and Rust-Oleum
      2005—Briggs & Stratton and Kelch

In December we will hold the annual awards presentation in appreciation of past recipients and to announce the 2014 Power Partner.  In the spirit of the season, what a remarkable group to be thankful for.
